Compassion
is a part of God's will:.Matthew
7:21.
The
Infinite One is kind:.Luke
6:35 "...he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil."
It is doubtful whether one
can be good without being good for something!
Compassion is kindness
enlarged upon. It is selflessness, the opposite of the
ego's concerns. Compassion can only come from a soul at
peace. Ever see compassion and anger side by side? Ever see peace and
hate simultaneously?
The greatest of all the arts
is the art of losing ourselves in the service of others! Closest to that
is
cooking!
But just because of our natural human nature, our egos, we end up concentrating
on the me of us, rather than the we of us.
(Grab a cup of organic coffee
(Organic Costa Rican is my favorite) or bancha
tea, to sit down with this one. It will take a while; about three hours+
{about the time it would take you to see a long movie. And this will do
more for your life here on out into eternity} if you look up the scriptures
and follow the links. It is an important subject about one way to a better
life from now on, and right here)
If Christ (what
does 'Christ' mean? it's not what you think; not totally anyhow) is
in us, He will be prompting us to do good works ("For
we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto
good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."....Ephesians
2:10).Why?
1Peter
2:9 "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation,
a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises.(or
virtues – one being compassion).of
Him who has called you out of darkness
into His marvelous
light."
Jude
1:21,22 "Keep yourselves in the love of God.....And have compassion,
making a difference."
1Peter
1:5 "Finally, be you all of one mind, having compassion one of another,
love as brethren,
be pitiful.(tenderhearted),
be courteous."
Galatians
6:2,10 "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ...As
we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially
unto them who are of the household of faith."
Compassion makes a difference
in keeping one's self in the love of God:.Jude
1:21,22. If we all did things only for money, how would another feel
your true love for them?
A spiritual person's (Christian's)
creed (a brief statement of belief) by Trinity Aldous: "I will stand
for you. I will fight for you. I will carry this. You rest!.1)"
But, many believing themselves
to be spiritual persons, and many of these may be called Christian,
doing disservice to the name, possess a different creed, as evidenced by
their actions: That of, "I will ensure my life is secure and increasingly
so. You can work, go on welfare, or I can use one of many other excuses
I have which prevent me from involving myself in the helping of others;
because I say by my actions that I really do not believe that what I do
or do not do has any effect whatsoever on my life, as I have instead chosen
to believe that once I have decided to become a spiritual person, my reward
is secure." ...big
time wrong! And do you think that we really do go
to heaven? A big lesson of life we are here to learn is
this.
The classic story of compassion
is told:
Luke
10:29-37 ".....And who is my neighbour? And Jesus answering said, A
certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell among thieves
which stripped him of his raiment.(clothing).and
wounded him and departed leaving him half dead. And by chance there came
down a certain priest
that way. And when he saw him he passed by on the other side. And likewise
a Levite, when he was at the place came and looked on him and passed by
on the other side. But a certain Samaritan as he journeyed, came where
he was. And when he saw him he had compassion on him and went to him and
bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine and set him on his own beast
and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when
he departed, he took out two pence and gave them to the host and said unto
him, Take care of him and whatsoever you spend more, when I come again,
I will repay you. Which now of these three do you think was neighbour.(original
Greek is 'to want to be close because one cares'; interested in rapport).unto
him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that showed mercy
on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do likewise.".How?
Make a decision to care. You go nowhere without direction.
It was the Samaritan that
had sympathetic love towards this less fortunate person. He was interested
in and willing to care for another whom he had never met:.John
13:35 "By this shall all men know that you are my disciples,
if ye have love one to another." 1John
3:10 "In this the children
of God are manifest, and the children of the devil. Whosoever doeth
not righteousness is not of God, neither
he that loves not his
brother." 1John
4:7 "Beloved, let us love one another. For love is of God, and every
one
that loveth is born of God and knows God." 1John
4:11 "Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another."....continue?
