Belief
is an important subject...God rewards belief:.Hebrews
11:6 "But without faith
it is impossible to please him. For he that comes to God must believe that
he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently
seek him."
Mark
9:23 "Jesus said unto him, If you can believe, all things are possible
to him that believes."
Mark
11:24 "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever you desire, when
you
pray, believe that you receive them.(original
is active voice, that is, in your mind, you must already
be in possession of it).,
and you have them."
Mark
11:22,23 "And Jesus answering said unto them, Have faith in God. For
verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be
removed, and be cast into the sea; and shall not doubt
in his heart, but believe
that those things which he says comes to pass; he shall have whatsoever
he says."
John
1:7 "The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that
all men through him might believe."
It was important in the beginning:.Genesis
15:1-6; James 2:23; Romans
4:1-3; Mark 16:16. It is important
for us today. It is your state with the
Great Infinite One.
It is massively important.
It is the key to getting the power of the invisible Infinite One to flow
through us as it did in Jesus:.Ephesians
3:16 "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory,
to be strengthened with might.(original
is 'to have power to accomplish', and that comes from God).by
his
Spirit in.the
inner man." Ephesians
1:19 "And what
is the exceeding greatness of his power.(and
that comes eventually, once you come to believe that all answers to the
negatives in life involve a spiritual aspect).to
usward.(us).who
believe according to the working
of his mighty.(here
the word "mighty" simply refers to the ultimate mighty power – God's power).power."
Paul talked of God's Kingdom
(Christ's too:.Ephesians
5:5) as a present happening for every believer:.Colossians
1:12,13; 2Corinthians 6:2.
David
too realized this:.Acts
2:34.
You know you are in a state
of belief when your mind can't entertain the opposite of what you hold
in it.
Unbelief is not rewarded:.2Kings
17:14-20 "Notwithstanding
they would not hear but hardened their necks like to the neck of their
fathers that did not believe in the LORD their God. And they rejected his
statutes and his
covenant that he made with their fathers and his testimonies which
he testified against them. And they followed vanity
and became vain.(sorta
like an attitude: 'now let's see now, what's more exciting out there than
all this boring spiritual stuff?' Which tochoose? TV or spiritual stuff?
Like what I mean is: time in prayer and Bible Study and meditation {thinking
about what you have studied, how it relates to you and your life, and to
others you may be concerned about}; or are you locked in apathy?),
and went after the
heathen
that were round about them, concerning whom the LORD had charged them that
they should not do like them. And they left all the
commandments of the LORD their God and made them molten
images, even two calves, and made a grove.(original
Hebrew 'asherah', properly, a wooden image, or a pillar representing Ashtoreth,
a sensual Canaanitish goddess, usually set up in a grove of trees {2Kings
21:1-9; 23:4}),
and worshipped all the host of heaven.(stars,
planets, etc.), and served Baal.
And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire.(some
do firewalking today over hot coals, but this is not related, as here in
these ancient times it was a ceremony to a 'god' named Molech,
an initiation ceremony of worship to this supposed god).and
used divination and enchantments.(original
implies 'secret arts, tricks, something covered'; to place under one's
power by or as if by magic; cast a spell over; to captivate completely),
and sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him
to anger. Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel,
and removed them out of his sight. There was none left but the tribe of
Judah
only. Also Judah kept not the commandments of the LORD their God, but walked
in the statutes of Israel which they made. And the LORD rejected all the
seed of Israel and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of
spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.".They
were this way because they just did not understand the greatness of the
Everliving One. Do you? If not read all about this
subject.
Unbelief
causes trials in life. Belief brings a 'charmed' life, where all fits
well for a person. Even though their may be bumps along the way so that
we continue to learn, they are not severe bruises.
Believing is being in your
mind (or, to put it another way - being in the now in your mind, what you
see your future to be like) what you want to be true in the present, so,
be 'being' in your mind. This is how belief takes you into a better future.
Belief has been a part of
a
relationship with the Great Infinite One.since
the beginning:.James
2:23 "And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham.believed
God, and it was imputed
unto him for righteousness. And he was called the Friend of God."
Belief can be built up by
doing certain things involving what
goes on in the mind.
Believing God loves you makes
your love perfect:.1John
4:16,17 "And we have known and believed the love that God has to us.
God is love, and he that dwells in love dwells in God and God in him. Herein
is our love made perfect that we may have boldness in the day of judgment.
Because as he is so are we in this
world." Phillipians 2;5,6.
When
you believe in the name (all He stands
for) of the Lord Jesus, you are promised the gift of the Holy
Spirit, His nature residing in you:.Acts
19:2-5
"He said unto them; Have you received the
Holy Ghost since you believed? And they said unto him: We have not
so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them,
Unto what then were you
baptized? And they said,
Unto John's baptism.(what's
that?)..
Then said Paul, John verily.('verily'
means 'in truth' or 'it is true that').baptized
with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should
believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When
they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."
And when you are a believer
Jesus prayer for all believers at all times applies to you:.John
17:20.
